Hero Splendor
The Hero Splendor is a motorcycle manufactured in India by Hero. It has an electronic ignition and a tubular double cradle type frame with a 97.2 cc engine. The engine is based on the Honda Cub C100EX with a similar bore and stroke of 50 mm × 49.5 mm.

The Splendor is one of the most iconic motorcycles in India and also one of the best-selling. It has proved itself as a dependable workhorse and is backed by a massive sales and service network. However, it remains to be seen whether the Splendor Plus BS6’s sales success will survive the sizable price hike.
One of the highest-selling motorcycles in the commuter segment, the Hero Splendor Plus is powered by a BS6 compliant 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine. This engine delivers a maximum power of 7.9hp and a peak torque of 8Nm. Stopping power is taken care of by 130mm drum brakes at both ends with IBS technology which is Hero's version of combined braking. The motorcycle rides on 18-inch wheels with tubeless tyres. Splendor Plus is known for providing a comfortable ride and being pocket-friendly because of high mileage figures. The bike sports rather simple but neat looks. It also has a sturdy luggage rack at the back for carrying bags and other belongings. Hero is selling the Splendor Plus in a total of four variants - kick with alloy wheel, self with alloy wheel, self-alloy wheel with i3S and the 100 Million Edition. The price range starts at Rs 62,535 for the kick variant and goes up to Rs 67,845.
In terms of design and styling, the Splendor Plus hasn't received any changes and comes with the same bikini fairing and rectangular headlight. In addition, the manufacturer has introduced new colours to keep its look fresh. Suspension duties are done by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. With all these updates, the BS6 Splendor Plus is slightly heavier than the BS4 version. The kerb weight now stands at 110kg for kick start version and 112kg for self start variants.
The BS6 Hero Splendor Plus comes with a 9.8-litre fuel tank with i3S technology. Its fuel-injected engine promises better fuel efficiency than the BS4 version. Hero MotoCorp has not revealed the claimed fuel efficiency of the BS6 Splendor Plus but you can expect a mileage of about 65-70kmpl when riding in the city.
